Urinary incontinence, constipation, pain with sex, heaviness or bulging in the pelvis, and other "embarrassing" or frustrating symptoms often have one thing in common: your pelvic floor. These issues are more common than you think—and more treatable than you’ve likely been told.

At Empower PT, we specialize in pelvic health from a whole-person, movement-based perspective. That means we don’t just treat the floor—we address your breathing, pressure systems, movement patterns, nervous system, and strength to help you get back to what you love, without fear or confusion.

How We're Different:

Not your average PT clinic.

We’re not a high-volume practice handing you a printout of basic exercises like kegels. Every session is 1-on-1, with a licensed pelvic floor physical specialist who listens deeply and tailors care to you.

No symptom-chasing.

We don’t just treat symptoms—we look for the underlying drivers. If you’ve been told “everything looks normal” or have tried exercises that didn’t make a difference, we dig deeper to understand why you're feeling what you’re feeling.

We combine orthopedic and pelvic health training with advanced knowledge of pressure mechanics, loading strategies, and trauma-informed care to support your full recovery.

What to Expect:

Initial Assessment:

Your first visit includes a detailed history, movement assessment, and, if appropriate/if you’re comfortable, an internal pelvic floor exam to identify contributing factors and clarify your goals.

Treatment Plan:

 Treatment may include manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, strength training, breathwork, pressure system retraining, and education tailored to your lifestyle and activity demands.

Commitment:

Most clients work with us weekly for 6–12 weeks, with the option to space out sessions or continue with guidance as needed for return to sport or complex cases.

Sitting at work was uncomfortable, intimacy was painful, and she often felt a deep ache she couldn’t explain. How many sessions will I need?

Every person is different, but many of our clients notice significant improvements within 6–8 sessions. We reassess regularly to make sure your care evolves with you.

Do I need a referral?

Q:

In New York, you do not need a referral to start PT. We can refer you to a medical provider if anything falls outside our scope.

What if I’ve already tried pelvic PT and it didn’t help?

Q:

Unfortunately, we hear this a lot. Many clients come to us after other PT experiences didn’t meet their needs. Our individualized, full-body, strength-forward approach is often the missing piece.
